Hello!

This is to share my experience using Win98 and ME with
Trade Station. I found that at times of heavy volume
I would be reading one quote on my Quote Monitor and
at its worst three other DIFFERENT price values on
three charts, that is, FOUR different sets of price
values for the same, identical market moment.
I quickly quit trading since I had no idea what was
correct and called TS Tech Support (which I have found
to be on the whole extremely good!). I was lucky to
get Jessye, who along with 'Wonderful Juan' is a name
I know and trust.

Jessye reported the problems of memory management with
Win98 and ME (I have 256 megs of RAM on this computer,
so the amount of memory was not the problem). When it
is heavily taxed the Quote Monitor will be the most
nearly correct since data is dumped directly into it.
With charts, however, the data is processed and in my
experience it was coming out with three sets of delay
intervals and hence three different values on three
different charts. (This was truly a bizarre experience!)

Her advice. Go immediately, buy and install Win 2000
Pro. I did this. Have had no problem since even
though I have not added memory to the system.
I have not been able to find the 'offical' system
resources read out for 2000 Pro. (It is not to be
found in 'My Computer'. Anyone know where it is?)
There is, however, a reading of "system resources free"
in another program I have which with 2000 Pro reads
90% with GS, TS, and data feed plus Internet broker
all on line. The same configuation under Win98 and ME
(I went to ME thinking it was a move forward, though
it appears not to have been any better for TS and
possibly worse) reading from 'My Computer' was 22%.

Anyway, I highly recommend Win 2000 Pro as a stable
platform for running Trade Station in Real Time.

Good trading!
