Dear LD,
I believe you are describing Gilbert Philip "Gil" Castillo, of South Lake
Tahoe, CA, who has done business under the names "Commodity Intelligence
Corporation", "StreetSmart", "MicroTrader", "King of the Streets", and "Castle
Enterprise Corporation", perhaps among others. Although his businesses often
include the word "Corporation," I have checked with the Secr. of State of
California, his home state, as to whether these businesses have been registered
as corporations in CA, as required by law (either as a California corporation
or a non-CA corporation doing business within CA, as he represents his
businesses as doing), and those records show, for example, that neither
"Commodity Intelligence Corporation" nor "Castle Enterprise Corporation" is so
registered. From time to time this decade, he has run a series of ads for
trading systems in IBD. Those systems included certain promises and
guarantees, which, in my experience, proved to be illusory. Several years ago,
I sued him in Washington State Court for breach of contract and
misrepresentation and obtained a money judgment against him. My considerable
but unsuccessful efforts to collect on the judgment lead me to believe that he
has made himself judgment proof. Yes, I own some of his materials. No, I
don't recommend them or doing business with him. If you could direct me to the
location of any property held in his name, I would appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Richard
