(I emailed this to the list (and to Omega Research) on Wed, 27 Dec 2000
14:40:36 -0800 but it evidently got lost on the way to the list).
TS 2000 is still placing opening up/down tick volume in the wrong volume
column in (1, 5, etc.) minutes charts. This problem of assigning opening
up/down tick volume was noted over a year ago and at that time I had
hoped that service pack 3 corrects these errors. Evidently not.
JBL on 12/19/2000 opened at 9:40am down at 19.75 and 94 trades went off
at this price. (The last 2 trades on 12/18 were: 3:59:44pm at 27.75,
3:59:56pm at 27.875.) In the 5 minute chart (or any minute chart), the
61,700 shares for these 94 DOWN trades was added to the UP volume
column.
JBL on 12/21 opened at 9:32am UP at 21.125 and 79 trades went off at
this price. (The last 2 trades on 12/20 were: 3:59:48pm at 21.0,
3:59:55pm at 20.938.) In the 5 minute chart (or any minute chart), the
42,000 shares for these 79 UP trades was added to the DOWN volume
column.
JBL on 12/26 opened at 9:30am UNCHANGED at 21.875 and 39 trades went off
at this price. (The last 3 trades on 12/22 were: 3:59:45pm at 21.813,
3:59:48pm at 20.875, 3:59:56pm at 20.875. From these last trades it is
seen that the volume is UP volume.) In the 5 minute chart (or any minute
chart), the 83,100 shares for these 39 UP trades was added to the DOWN
volume column.
