This one has me stumped. I couldn't find anything about it in the
Microsoft knowledge base. NT4 Workstation SP6.
I installed some new (well known) software. Now I can't drag the
shortcut icons on my Windows Desktop. If I try to drag one around, or
drop one onto the Desktop from Explorer, I just get a stop sign (circle
with a line through it).
I can rearrange the icons with autoarrange. I can also copy them from
Explorer with Ctrl-C and paste them to the Desktop with Ctrl-V. But it's
not accepting drag and drop with the mouse.
I reinstalled SP6 and the Matrox video driver but no joy.
Running Rebuild Icons from TweakUI frees them up temporarily but it
messes up my system tray. When I reboot, I'm back where I started -
system tray is fine, can't drag the icons.
Ideas?
