Simple code idea has me stumped

I use RealTick as my trading platform. I run my tradestation scans and have
the results written to a .txt file, so that I can read it into RT.  In order
to read all the symbols I need the top line of the file to be null. i.e.:
{BLANK)
			Dell
			MSFT

I have run out of ideas as to how to make this work. Any ideas would be
appreciated.
