Best solution- Windows 2000 (clean install) and 256MB Ram. Dell probably has
lots of unnecessary stuff being loaded at startup too. This can slow your
machine down enormously. Contact Dell tech support and have them walk you
through the process of eliminating all that you don't need to have running
in the background.
