Robert,

you win! Forget vi, Lemmy, grep, sed and all the rest. NoteTab has all the
regular expressions anyone would want, plus a modern GUI look-and-feel.

The url is www.notetab.ch .

Thanks for the recommendation!

Betreff: Ascii file handling program

Hi Phil,
The best free ascii file handling program that I've used is
"NoteTabLight" at www.notetab.com. There is a "light" version which is
free. It handles ascii files like a dream and it's fast. It can easily
handle multi gigabyte ascii files.

I found a bug when running a "find and replace" command in Microsloth Word
and it was horribly SLOW. The bug only appeared when I was running
huge >100,000 row ascii files, but, when I began using NoteTabLight, it
flies like a rocket and guess what, NO BUGS.

BTW, NoteTabLight is a Swiss product!

HTH
