I noticed the other day that the session times, etc., were all messed
up for the stocks I had displayed in quote windows. Non-displayed
stocks apparently were happily using the exchange defaults, without
problems, as the times for the exchanges were ok. But for those I
was tracking, the start/end/collect-daily-quotes times were numbers
like "32484" or "265:52pm" and all days of both session1 and 2 were
checked. I was inspired to poke around when I noticed that I was
missing some days of daily data; with those times, no wonder.
I moved from TS3.5 to TS4.0 after Y2K. TS3.5 didn't care about
daily limits and such for stocks, but 4.0 seems to, in its wisdom...
The interesting bit is that I can correct the entries for all the
stocks in my portfolio except Omega Research, OMGA. Any attempt
to alter the symbol universe settings, either to use the exchange
settings, or corrected entries on the individual sheet, results
in the following error popup messages:
"Operation failed, no current record" [ok]
and
"Database Access Error:82"
"Operation failed, no current record" [ok]
I tried renaming the omega data and deleting/recreating the symbol
universe entry for OMGA, and got the same error. It's as though
something is hardwired into TS for the symbol OMGA.
Anybody had a similar experience? It's really no big deal to me,
as I don't anticipate actually *trading* OMGA; I just follow it
for entertainment, and, interestingly, even with those crazy numbers
in the symbol universe, TS seems to collect daily data fine for OMGA.
But it is curious that I can edit entries for all other stocks...
