<shrug> Bad data is a fact of life for both mechanical and discretionary
traders. The best you can do is try to develop a trading method that
won't get hurt too badly by bad data. Without getting into mechanical
data filtering methods, it all boils down to common sense. Even
mechanical traders still have to place the trade. If a tick is obviously
bad, you wouldn't take a trade based on it whether you are a mechanical
or a discretionary guy. You would go into the database and delete it so
your charts look right. If it's not obviously bad, it's going to affect
mechanical and discretionary guys equally. Trading mechanically doesn't
mean being brain dead.
