Simon:

Someone published this info a few weeks ago, and I saved the reference.
(Sorry, but I can't remember whom). This should give the info you need:
http://www.bearmarketcentral.com/mutualfunds.htm

The first bear funds were in the Rydex group. I have heard that they will
be going to half day trading segments soon. I don't know anything about the
others. Rydex uses futures for 10% of their assets, and t bills for 90%,
allowing them to have a short s&p fund (Rydex Ursa). They may have added a
short nasdaq and short gold by now. They have long funds of each of those
and a long and short bond fund. The long s & p fund (Rydex Nova), is
leveraged at 1.5 beta.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Don
