I'd be surprised if this makes a difference if everyone just fills up on
a different day, and in reality uses the same amt. of gas. If a lot of
people resolved to use the bus for 2 weeks *instead* of their cars, it
might be a different story. Unfortunately, we want the easy fix (take
it out of the Strategic Reserve), not the (most times) relative minor
inconvenience of public transportation.

Actually I kindof like taking the bus. It only takes a little longer
and I can read the whole way. The catch is, as a professional in a
factory, the exact end of the day is unpredictable and I found myself
having to choose between running out and catching the bus, and finishing
something that should be finished. If I have my car, I can take that
extra 5 minutes if needed, without waiting another 30 minutes for the
next bus.

Im hoping to redevelop the habit of riding my bike to work some days.
