You need to disable Win NT from searching the com ports for a mouse. WinNT
frequently gets fooled into thinking the BMI box is a mouse. The fix is to
use a text editor to edit your boot.ini file on your root drive. Insert the
/noserialmice entry as shown below:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Windows NT Workstation Version
4.00" /noserialmice
Note that the similar line in your boot.ini might be slightly different.
Also, make sure to backup the original boot.ini file under a different
filename in case you run into problems.
