Peter.. Depending on how far away your "mountain" is from a US west  CO, you
still may be able to get DSL or at IDSL (DSL using ISDN signaling). If those
options are not available to you, I'd suggest trying to get ISDN. If ISDN
isn't available, I'd check on a dedicated 56/64k data line or fractional T1.
If that isn't available, you could get a second phone line and, if your ISP
supports it, bond both lines together for approximately twice the
throughput -- this requires a special modem on your end and possibly one on
their end, depending on the equipment they're using and how it's configured.
