RE: off topic - video expansion question

Nixon,

Your only hope is if the DELL Inspiron 3000 has a driver that allows for
"panning" of the screen - i.e. you will get a virtual desktop.

I would have thought the 3000 could handle 1024*768 - have you tried
adjusting it? Right click on your windows desktop, choose properties,
settings - a slider control in the lower right sets the display.

Personally I think if you are an active trader you need to see the whole IB
application otherwise your risk of "accidents" increases... so hopefully
your laptop will accomodate it. Panning the display would be a poor
substitute in my opinion.

Regards
Michael

Subject: off topic - video expansion question

I have a notebook (DELL Inspiron 3000) which I use for order entry to my
brokers. I am about to start using Interactive brokers and their software
requires 1028x768 resolution. As it stands I cannot get all the IB
workspace on to the screen. Is there some way of acheiving this. I know
that if I were using a desktop I could just change the graphics/video card.
Is there soemthing that goes in the PCMCIA slot that I could use? any other
solution?

many thanks

Philip
