Thanks for the help I received. I had a great number of responses to this,
so let me share the input I received. The results will take a while, because
it now seems it is time for me to update to SP4, even if I am uncertain if
that will affect this matter or not.
It turns out there is a directory, "Custom Symbol Lists" that includes files
which are simple to write/read/change (files ending in ".csl". It seems as
if that directory and those list files only exists for those using
Radarstation. Pure Tradestation users do not seem to have them (but maybe
SP4 users, that is why I will reinstall).
It also seems that this feature only works for them getting data from the
globalserver, not for anyone using 3rd party data (Metastock or ASCII).
(This limitation also seems to exist when it comes to holiday lists, 3rd
party data are no longer supported all the way).
For those using 3rd party, the solution is either to figure out the custom
symbol list format in the Group directory, or to create a dll which will
feed a custom list through running workspace assistant. Figuring out the
Group list format seems tough, creating a dll is a more tried approach,
although I have not done anyone myself so far.
