You know, if you believe that story, I've got some prime real estate
to sell in the middle of the desert, or was it in the middle of
the Pacific Ocean, I forget, but it was to die for.

Get on the OR tech support guys and tell them you are not stupid
and to find a better excuse. Tell them you do not believe that
a shop full of developers never runs/tests any thing they compile.
How could they test any thing, even in a cursory fashion, and not be
aware of development system conflicts with the code they are writing
and then fix it. I just cannot believe there is some sort of a
timing conflict between TS and a compiler tool, that is with a tool
which is not actively being used. Of course, if you are trying to
build a million line piece of software during the trading day,
you would expect problems. But that is not the scenario you are
talking about.

I have MS Visual Studio with both VC++ and VB installed along with
most of the rest of the developer's tools, on NT SP5 and TS4 b 26.
No problems caused by interaction between these. I've had some
version of either MS or Borland C/C++ compilers installed on my
TS machine for 4-5 years. Never a problem.

However, I will admit that some screen savers interfere significantly
with the morning update, so I don't use screen savers.

There are no clues. It's a part of OR's imagination.
