There are Y2K failures occurring now. You just are not hearing about them. Bill knows this. What he's saying is that the information will *get out* in forthcoming weeks.
Remember that it is in no one's interest to make public any Y2K problems. In fact, it is in everyone's interest to keep them secret. What do you expect? You think a business is going to announce that they are having a Y2K problem? It ain't gonna happen.
What will happen is that eventually the hard-to-fix problems will leak out. You will start to see this as early as tomorrow. The problems will leak when they begin to effect customers, clients, suppliers, employees, and others who see no reason to keep the problems secret.
Right now, the biggest effects are on IT staffs. Tomorrow the effects will spread.
