it's always been that way. you just never noticed before. if you open a
server dialog box, like the portfolio window, it should drop. you
probably don't want to leave the dialog box open if you're collecting
data realtime. it could hurt server performance.

i just got my first nt box so i'm far from an expert. i've been told
that you can go into task manager / processes and right click NTVDM.EXE
and set the priority to low without adversely affecting ts performance.
the server will still run near 100% cpu when nothing else is running but
other programs will have an easier time getting cpu power when they need
it.
