Allan,
Although I agree that Matrox has gerat drivers and that their cards are well
regarded, it has been true in the past that calling their tech-support was
usually a half an hour or more wait.
I own a Matrox G400 dualhead, and it is hands down the best graphics card I
own (from eight comparable graphics cards.) However, when I wanted to add a
PCI card to add even more monitors, I was told by their tech-support that
the only card could do that with was the G200 PCI, because the other Matrox
cards (e.g., G100) drivers were incompatible with the G400. I asked about
this six months ago and they still haven't gotten around having a universal
driver. The G200 will be available soon in Dual/Quad head versions which
will aliviate some of this.
In any case, I agree with you, but I think Matrox has lost a bunch of
customers due to their (previuos ?) tech-support inadiquacies.
Regards,
Ivan
