Ullrich, Hard to know where to point the finger; before the July =
PCQuote patches I was getting frequent disconnects, but even so, it was =
a big improvement over the eSignal Data Manager interface which locked =
up the GS hourly. I understand there's a better eSignal version out =
now. PC Quote has moved about 1/2 its omega feed to a new server they =
say. I don't see as frequent a disconnect now on the new one, but still =
occurs about every other day. I think its the GS, however, not PCQuote =
feed. ON NT4 I enabled the DUN "lights" and audibles on the modem for =
data send/receive. When the lights stop I know the connection dropped. =
Most of the time the with the GS lockup problem (ie 2-3 times/day), the =
PCQuote etix front end dialog box shows its processing packets and =
passing them to the GS, but the GS is inactive despite showing its =
connected. Sometimes edit-disconnect-edit-connect works, sometimes it =
doesnt. But eSignal at least has its own charting & news, so you're not =
dead in the water if it now works better-at least you can see the =
market. LOL to us all.

Subject: Re: E-signal vs. PC Quote
I've been quite happy with the accuracy, reliability, and speed of
information from eSignal. Their charting software is fairly rudimentary
compared to what you get in TradeStation, but it is very fast. My only
complaint with eSignal is that they charge extra to upgrade your service
from 500 to 1000 symbols. If I don't get a break on this issue, I'll
probably switch to PC Quote when my prepaid service period ends.
I would also be interested in PC Quote users' comments on the reliability,
accuracy, and speed of that feed.
