Agreed. The problem often comes when beliefs are stated as facts. It might
help if people clearly labeled (whatever) as a belief. Others could then,
perhaps, more easily recognize it as a belief. If they have a different
belief, then they might so state, again labeling it as a belief. Folks
might also remember that facts presented in a response often do not sway a
true believer, though.
But people have been arguing (or worse) about religion, politics, etc. for
thousands of years; we probably won't stop anytime soon :-).
