When you are in the System Properties dialog box, click on the item with the
Exclamation mark to highlight it, and then click the properties button
below. This should bring up the Properties dialog box for the item - in the
middle of that is a Device Status box with the error description in it. When
my laptop is not docked, for instance, my laptop floppy disk device
properties give me the error:
"This device is not present, not working properly or does not have all the
drivers installed. See your hardware documentation (Code 10)."
I think this is a standard error and you might get the same, but you might
get something helpful. Try it. Otherwise, are you using that hard disk
controller for drives or is it unused?
regards
Adam

>Hello Folks:
>I use Windows 95. I have noticed under SYSTEM PROPERTIES/Device Manager
under the sub-heading Hard Disk Controllers I have a circled (yellow in
colour) exclamation point through the icon for the SECONDARY BUS MASTER IDE
CONTROLLER. Apparently this means there is a hardware problem.
