Part of this question is how will the credit card company respond to your
complaint. Having had serveral merchant accounts for debiting credit cards,
I can tell you that credit card companies tend to favor the individual and
hold the merchants to very high standards. I don't know if the people who
you will be complaining to at Omega are aware of how serious the credit card
companies are, but many times just threatening to tell the credit card
issuer that you will refuse the charges will get you what you want. The
credit cards companies keep very detailed track of these kinds of complaints
and are quick to punish vendors whose chargeback rate is too high.
Punishments range from raising the discount rate (the percent that the
credit card company takes out of each transaction) to cancelling the
merchant account outright. Omega is not likely to have their account
cancelled because they undoubtedly have a high monthly volume, but they
should be concerned about ticking off the account issuer.

The account cancellation is with pcquote, not omega.
I have not tackled that question yet...
With all the talk about legalities on this list (IRS, shrink-wrap, re-sale,
etc.) what is the opinion of canceling a contract with omega because of the
software being defective and omega making untrue claims about performance
and functionality?
I haven't started such a discussion with omega, but I wonder what the group
thinks about the question.
