AW: What is slippage?

PureBytes Links

Trading Reference Links

The difference between your theoretical entry (exit) price, ie the one your PC
or system would consider being the execution, and the real execution of your
order.

For example, if you were to buy yesterday's high + 1 tick on a stop, and you
ended up buying yesterdays' high + 5 ticks, you would have 4 ticks slippage
against you. This is a very important element to consider when trading back
tested systems in real time.

Cheers,

Gwenn
