FWIW, I have tried TS2K on two machines: one was a 166 MHz P1, 98 Mb, and
the other was a 350 MHz P2 128 Mb. Both are running W98SE, installed as an
upgrade from W98, which, in turn, was an upgrade from W95.
In both cases, if I recall correctly, at one point the install asked me
something about the files I am installing are older than the current version
on my computer. Do I really want to replace? I answered 'no to all'. In each
case the install completed successfully and TS2K seems to run alright,
although very, very slow on the 166 MHz machine. Power users should note
that I am only collecting about 300 symbols, mostly indices and a few
stocks, in real time (Signal cable).
I have about one lock up and crash per week, which is about the same as what
I had with TS4. Usually happens when I try to open another application -
insufficient resources, I suppose.
In any event, the situation seems tolerable and meets my needs for now.
