Yes of course this can and does happen. You just pick up the phone and call your broker or the trade desk to straighten things out.
| how long does it take to get filled on average -- best and worst?
In the s&p they use direct to the arb desk bypassing TOPS and CUBS and then the orders are sent in with a headset to the broker. Fills are on the order of 5 - 15 seconds.
| any other input would be appreciated.
Right now the don't have direct link for e-mini's that is coming around 7/24/99 so they say. The mini orders go to the trade desk and are entered in the globex terminal.
