I have Turbocom multiplier set to 1 and use 460800 on the DTN box and 460800
on TS's datafeed settings. It does not matter what the actual port speed is
set to using NT's port configuration but I do have this defaulted to 115200.
If the GS crashes, then I do "auto detect" in TS's datafeed settings which
usually finds the DTN box but sets the speed to 230400. If this happens,
then I use this setting in TS, change the setting on the DTN box to 230400,
shut down GS and restart GS. This will always re-connect again but at
230400. I then change the setting manually in TS's datafeed settings to
460800, change the DTN box back to 460800 and shut down GS, then restart GS.
This will re-connect back at 460800. You do not have to recycle the DTN box.
Just change the port speed in the setup menu.
This does not resolve the problem of GS's stability or that fact that it
takes an hour or more before quotes are being received again. I do not know
why it should take this long for GS to start collecting data again. However,
it is probably due to some kind of synchronization problem that GS has with
the DTN datafeed. Hopefully, Omega can figure it out.

I'm also having serious problems, even with NT and a high speed
serial port,
DTN satellite, and a powerful computer. For example, all of my stock

A question please, about the serial port. I have a TurboCom high

serial port card installed, but I can't get GlobalServer to
recognize it
properly under NT 4.0 SP4 (it worked fine under Win98). DTN box is
set to
460800, serial port is set to the maximum 115000 allowed under NT,
multiplier in the TurboCom card is set to 4, as per their
instructions.
Under Data Feed Setting/DTN in GlobalServer, 115000 is the maximum
setting
allowed, at 460800 it will not connect. Do you have this problem? Is
it a
problem? Thanks much.
