TS2000i Update (SP2)

I ran TS2000i SP2 all week, using PCQuote Hyperfeed as my real time
data feed.

The product was solid all week, no crashes, no Hyperfeed disconnects,
and easy updates from History Bank.

The hyperfeed speed seems to have really improved. Using CNBC as a
gauge,
I seemed to be runnng about 15 seconds behind their index update,
which to me is reasonable as I trade 5 minute bars and use limit orders
for entry and exit.

This does not mean I am happy with ProSuite as I still want a real
debugger, I wish system builder did not exist, and I think that History
Bank should allow updates by symbol instead of exchange, so that
intraday back testing data can quickly be set up. Now you are limited
two 2 days back. I usually use 2-3 months to develop a system.

I think that Omega should not dumb down the product in hopes of
selling more copies. A better strategy would be to make a
good development product, and then encourage third party
developers to deliver an end user solution for non programmers.

This is like Visual C++ being made to be usable by a non-programmer
so that they can write a word processor, rather than buying one that
was written in C++. Most people would just rather buy the word
processor. I think that history shows from the invention of COBOL
forward that a non-programmer can't program without becoming a
programmer.

Please Omega, adopt a better business strategy.

Until then, can someone post the Linux trading system developement
mailing list? I am so happy with RedHat 6.0 and GNOME that I would
like to start helping work on a Linux based platform.

Thanks,

David
