Ts2000i Stability

I have been a been a professional programmer all
my working life with degrees in mathematics and
computer science. I have 20 years of experience
from assembly to C, C++, you name it, Unix,
DOS, NT, etc. I have used Tradestation for
years and never called their technical support
once. I know how to write a device driver,
use an ICE, in short, I'm a nerd. I know what
I am doing. If you can get TS2000i to work,
I can do it. I applied maintenance, monitored
memory, the processes, etc. This product is
not stable, and should not have been released.

The reason is people like myself use this software
to trade large sums of money. Omega has no right
to cause me financial ruin. I think I should have
a reasonabke expectation that the software will
not crash 5 times a day. I run one workspace,
one chart, one symbol for christ's sake. And,
run nothing else on the machine (out of fear).

I worked 10 years for Silicon Graphics, from
when it was a start up. What we did was monitor
the news group, and engineers replied directly
to customer problems because we had too much
pride to have people feel our software was
bad. We had bugs, but we took responsibility.

Omega has Melody Blais monitor this group. I don't
think she is technical or really cares. I got one
terse reply from her after a I asked a question.

Now I work for a medical equipment manufacturer.
It would be a bad time to crash with someone
having open heart surgery. The point is, quality
is a matter of will.

I would not be so annoyed if Omega would have said that
this is a Beta release, did a limited release with
good support to knowledgable customers and were
honest. But they are not.

Another thing that I find hard to understand is fact that they
sell this software to people who know nothing about
technical analysis, and know nothing about programming,
but lead them to believe that they can make alot of money
by running some canned indicators and systems.

They can't and they should be told. Offer them proper training
but tell the truth. Ever go to an Omega seminar? Its painful
to watch.

I have no idea what their reasons for doing what they do
are. Ms. Blais, could you explain what the business plan is?
