I would appreciate some feedback as to what data feeds people are having
luck with (for real-time). I just received the product Friday and promptly
installed it on my NT 4.0 system (PII 400, 384mg RAM, SCSI CD-ROM, EIDI
16gig HD, etc...). The reason I mention my setup is because this might be
pertinent as to what I have to say.
So far I have just installed the list of NASDAQ and OTC-BB stocks. The
retrieval rate seems to be very good. Obviously the setup time on the
initial load of the GlobalServer app takes some time (haven't timed it) but
after that it seems to fly as far as data-retrieval goes. Just thought I'd
mention it for those that have had problems with the product. As I have
only been playing with the product for 2 days now I have not encountered any
bugs. But...as I'm a programmer I tend to find ways to screw things up so
maybe I'll find some bugs yet :)
I have been trolling the Silicon Investor web message boards and see a *lot*
of complaints about PC-Quote. I'd appreciate feedback as to what real-time
service people on this list are using. I'll also need to checkout in the
manual or call Tech Support as to what data providers Omega Supports.
