More ts2000 installation horror tales

After getting the global server running and minimal data converted
from ts4, I put up a simple workspace with a quote window, an SP M9 daily
window,
a WY M9 window, and a JY M9 window. I added a simple channel breakout
system
to the JY M9 window.

First, some new features that were found: 1) you now have the option of
displaying
the signal name on the chart that produced each buy/sell/exit. Thats nice.
2) you also
have a column on the quote page where you enter your current position
(long/short so many
contracts) and it will show you your current profit/loss. Thats nice also -
it would
be nicer if it automatically combined the profit/loss figures from the
system tracking page
to show you your net profit loss for all systems on that symbol (or allowed
you to choose
which systems to include in the figure).

Problem #6
Next I brought up the workspace assistant and told it to analyze my simple
workspace.
After about 20 minutes of chugging I hit the ABORT button. Big mistake!
Got an error
something like

"MLOG - this program has performed an illegal operation and will be
shutdown"

I clicked close, and waited. When TS2000 got done sorting things out, MY
WORKSPACE
WAS ALL MESSED UP! My quote window was gone, and the symbols on all the
other
windows were changed! the JY M9 window was now CD M9, the WY M9 window was
now
XF M9.

I was too depressed to continue - went to bed - maybe it will look better in
the morning.

Problem #7
Yesterday I got up the courage to try again. I tried to re-create the SP M9
window.
It told me 3/30/99 was an invalid date for the ending date for a daily
chart.
It did allow 3/29/99. So then I tried to do an hourly chart, thinking some
type of
end of day process needed to run. I figured an hourly chart would have to
work
whether the end of day ran or not.

The hourly chart gave me the same message. Invalid date for 3/30/99. The
signal
server was running, the global server was running, the hard drive was
lighting up every
few seconds so everything looked ok. I hadn't touched the system since
sunday (3/28).

My current impressions are:

1) TS2000i VERY SLOW
2) Requires very powerful machine to run
3) Installation procedure full of bugs
4) Documentation poor
5) Conversion program from TS4 not complete

Since I'm sure my installation is messed up I will give it one more try.
I will remove it from the system (assuming the uninstall program works) and
reinstall it, step by step. I will contact omega tech support with each
problem
as it comes up.
