PS2000i vs TS4 HD accesses

The HD activity with PS2000i is beginning to concern me. It sounds like it
is working overtime when data is coming in. For example, two machines side
by side, one with TS4(WIN95) and the other PS2000i(WIN98), both have the
same symbol list, both have plenty of free memory and disk space. TS4 is
fed by the Omega Server from BMI satellite, PS2000i is fed by the BMI Data
Manager and then the Omega Global Server. It looks and sounds like every
time a symbol is updated in the quote monitor in PS2000i there is a disk
access. Once data stops coming in things get quiet. Yet on the TS4 things
are very quiet all the time and the disk access light comes on a fraction
of the time than on the ps2000 machine. I have configured win98 for auto
virtual memory and also for manual virtual memory with the same results so
it does not appear to be a swap problem. Maybe the additional disk
accesses are due to using two data servers. Does this make sense? I just
can't believe this disk will have a normal lifespan running ps2000. Would
be interesting to have a comparison on disk access frequency from someone
who is using ps2000 with DTN as only the Omega Global server is between the
data and ps2000i.

Thanks,
