I worked with Omega tech support today, and could not
fix the crashes. They wanted me to format my hard disk
and start from scratch. I did not want to do this.
I asked the guy honestly if they were having stability
problems. He said know, and I believed him.
I researched the various crashes on the internet,
and found that there were many different file corruption
problems and memory problems with SIMMS and DIMMS that can
cause these crashes and lockups.
I remembered that I added two 128 meg DIMMS with the
64 meg DIMM that came installed with my system.
I popped out the 64 meg DIMM and just left the
two identical 128 meg DIMMS in my system.
Poof! The problems are gone.
The moral of the story is, ProSuite isn't as bad
as we think it is, and the new 32 API can hide
subtle problems. Do a little searching. You would
be surprised what can cause crashes.
