2000i installation problem

Help!!!

I tried to install ProSuite 2000i and receive the following error message:

		INS5576 caused an invalid page fault in 
		module KERNEL32.DLL at 015f:bff9d709 . . . 

The installation was aborted after the files were copied to the hard
drive but before any shortcuts were put on the desktop and before
any changes to the Program Files in the Start Menu.  The installation
aborts when it is initializing the "ODBC" files [whatever that is ???].

Also, when I tried to remove the program via the control panel, I received
a message that the "unistps.isu is not valid or the data has been corrupted."

Nothing else is running in memory.  I scanned and defraged the hard drive
but it did not help.

I have a Gateway 333, with 128 megs of ram, and 10G of free hard disk space.
I had a beta version of Office2000 on the computer but I uninstalled it after
reading some posts on this list.  

I tried Omega Tech Support and they suggested the disk scan and defrag.

I really hope that I don't have to reformat my hard drive --- that would be
a very
unattractive alternative.
