Re: Looking for book recommendations

Years ago, I borrowed a book on options from the local library. I think
it's a great book.

The title is: "The Winning Option".

The author is Ralph T. Dames.

The publisher is Nelson-Hall nh Chicago

The copyright year is 1980.

The book is about 112 pages.

This book is on straight buying calls (and puts in bear markets, though the
bulk of the book is about buying calls in bull markets). No complicated
strategies like spreads or straddles. And no mention of leaps (remember,
the year of publication was 1980, long before we had leaps).

So, if one is good at market timing, and does not trade leaps, this can be
a very good book.

Regards and good luck!

Wong

ps: Over the years, I find that my market timing is lousy, and I'm now more
into
leaps. I tend to trade leaps by averaging down. The results are at times
total disaster, but very often, the reward can be over 10 times, so the net
result during
the year is still a very satisfactory positive. UNFORTUNATELY, the book I
mentioned
earlier may not be appropriate for trading leaps.
