Re[2]: Re:13,000 bar limit now 16,960 bar limit in TS 5

I have 113,989 One minute bars of data for OEX in the server and collecting more
each minute live from DTN. That is more than 16,960.

Default data to collect is 50,000 Daily, 1000 days minute, 15 days tick. I can
change that to 50,000 days tick and 50,000 days minute. The data I charted was
from imported OMZ files I exported from Ver4.

You have to change the data to save after you import all that tick data or
maintenance will clean out data beyond the number of days to save.

Data is saved in Day increments and I can find no limit to the number of bars, I
have far more minute bars imported into the server than 16,000 and that number
is increasing daily as I collect data, live. after the market today I'll post
the number of OEX Bars of one minute data that I have in the server running live
on DTN.

It seems to me that if I could not collect more than 16,000 bars that data would
not be there, after a maintenance cycle, I have been running live for some time
now with that data in the server. I have no .txt data files that I use.

let me take another stab at it "you can not save in "real time collection"
the unlimited data that omega has claimed you could" you are in fact
limited with the new improved ts to 16,960 up from the pervious 13,000.
This means that someone like Jimo who is building his own real time data
series "will be" limited in the amount of data he can back test on.

I have not seen a limit on the amount of "dead data" txt data that can be
imported, so i dont know if there is a limit there yet or not. i dont think
there is.

mb

ps large sets of real time data are an issue with some traders and i thought
that the new ts was going to be unlimited in that area, it is not.

>I just loaded 24,960 5 min oex bars that is all the minute data that I
have on the OEX. That's 320 trading days. I'll try the entire history on the
daily DOW and count the bars and see how many I can load.
