Here's what happend to me:
Personally I lost a ton of money when I first started out, buying stocks on
"fundamentals". Then I discovered that I could trade stocks purely based on
technical price/volume patterns. Turned off CNBC, threw away the IBD and
did a lot better. Finally decided to skip stock selection altogether, and
obtain ultimate diversification at the same time by trading index futures.
Now things are really clicking. No more late nights scanning thousands of
stocks. No more hassles with upgrades, downgrades, earnings reports, etc.,
etc. Far fewer trades, much less to keep track of. Kinda boring really, but
it pays to be bored.
