I heard the same now for a while. Seems the futures exchanges are still
having a hard time breaking from the ways of the past in many ways. I wrote
all of them about a year ago suggesting current monthly fees could and
should be replaced with ticket charges. The Internet is to big area for
them to expect the public to pay monthly theses fees simply for access to
their markets. The more exposure to the public the better which would
result in higher trade volume for them.
Electronic trading is still a decade behind the securities industry in the
futures industry. Let those seat prices keep falling like a dropped safe
and they will wake up.
