1) DTN's Transmission speed is a dual channel feed 115k compressed, if you
are using only futures data you will use only one channel
2) Outages happen, but rarely. Our benchmark is 99.99% up time or more.
Missing ticks are usually a function of the software trying to read our
data. Generally speaking, if we are up you should be collecting every tick
on every symbol we transmit.
3) Multiple levels of service from $68 per month for delayed
futures/stocks/real time indexes to $3000 per month combined services with
more news than anyone can use, networking capabilities, proprietary trading
platforms etc. Most individual traders elect to use real time service for
around $120 per month.
4) I don't know of anyone who has successfully split DTN, we have worked
hard on security measures to prevent that. I know it is common with BMI, I
visit people every week who are splitting BMI. But since we are half the
cost, there is no reason to split, just buy 2 :)
Personal note, I encourage anyone interested in seeing how good DTN really
is to ask for a free trial. We are happy to give a true free trial (not a
money back, just pay exchange fees for your trial period).

Kevin Lee/DTN
