Philip,

I have no experience with Matrox, other than that which i have read in
context on this list.

I purchased my Colorgraphics three years ago on the recommendation of an
audiovisual expert who used their cards to set up(allegedly) the largest
video display at that time in the world; a foreign airport as I recall. At
that time, I was going to use 8 monitors, but ended up with 4 and extras due
to speed considerations. Several other serious traders aslo purchased the 4
monitor cards at the same time, and have had no problems. I chose this
company as my research and vicarious experience proved others(not
necessarily Matrox) to be undependable. I opted for reliability.

It is my understanding, as one would speculate, that the prices for the
Colorgraphics have come down considerably, and they have re this recent
email:

<It would be in your best interest (for speed and current technology) to
upgrade the card with your new machine. We are currently offering a 2 port
AGP board for $500. This is a reduced price from the usual $595. This
board is the fastest board we offer. You will be able to use it in your
new Dell machine.

Regarding a 4 port. We will be offering the 4 port in an AGP; however, it
will not be available until late April, early May (providing that all goes
well with our chip suppliers). I don't have a price yet, but I expect it
to be $700. If your need is immediate, we do have the Evolution 4
available for $595.

I mention these new boards because there is a possibility that your current
Quad Pro Lightning V+ may not work in a PII 450 due to the changes in
technology from the time you bought the card. In addition, the new
products will offer more speed than your current card.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.
