Because the CME's hardware/software techs are idiots. Furthermore, the
people at LFG are idiots for depending on this unreliable system. Sorry
but there is no kinder way to say it.

Lind Online seems quite good. The software interface looks like a 1982
DOS program but you can get used to it and their infrastructure is
excellent.

E-mini... when TOPS is working and you place an order that TOPS will
accept, the order goes straight into TOPS/GLOBEX and your fill is
reported in second. If TOPS is down or you want to place an order
outside the GLOBEX limits, the order goes to a clerk with a GLOBEX
terminal.

S&P... they have the ability to use CUBS but, due to reliability
problems with the CUBS system, have not been using it for several weeks.
Rather, the online orders are printed out at the pit desk and flashed
into the pit.

Bottom line, at Lind unlike with LFG, the customer doesn't have to worry
about system problems and cancel orders or change order types when the
CME systems go down. The broker takes care of all that and, as they
should, they make sure your orders get done one way or another. After
all, it's THEIR job, not yours. The daily excuses and market-only
restrictions from LFG are pure crap.
