Frank, I started having problems for the first time in two years with TS recognizing my block.  Thursday I just had to move it around to get it recognized.  Friday, I had to turn on the printer connected to the dongle.  It appears to be causing me problems in printing from Autocad 12 with a Windows generated error of printer port not ready. What has changed? What can I do to prevent having to turn on printers or play with the dongle to get it to read?  Why is it now apparently stopping my plots from Autocad? Thanks, John Kevin Hewitt wrote: I am running TS4 on a box that I recently upgraded to an AMD K6-2 300 and 100Mz bus and the following worked for me.  My setting is 2,2,30 instead of 10,10,10.  I run Win98 only, no Linux.  Here is the compete message from Omega Support: < It is possible that the block needs to be calibrated so the block can run at its optimal levels. To calibrate the block you would need to run a test on the block called SSIACT. I've enclosed directions on how to run this test. If this test still does not remedy the problem please let know as soon as possible for further assistance. Subject: Running SSIACT for Win 95 Following are instructions for running the SSIACT (Speed measurement utility device) for testing the security block in Windows 95. Please remember to close all programs before running this test. If you have a printer attached, remember to have it on before running the test. 1. First click on the START button. 2. Then go to PROGRAMS and click on MS-DOS PROMPT. 3. The DOS prompt should be running in. This means the screen will be completely black, with the DOS text in white. You will not be able to see other "windows" or anything other than the DOS screen. To change to full screen mode click on the PROPERTIES icon on the menu bar.  Select the SCREEN tab and select FULL SCREEN MODE. Click OK. 4. At the prompt type CD C:\OMEGA\PROG\DRIVERS\NT. Then hit . 5. At the prompt (C:\OMEGA\PROG\DRIVERS\NT>) type SSIACT and hit . 6. This will start the SPEED MEASUREMENT UTILITY. At the "Hit enter when ready" message, make sure the security block is attached properly and then hit . 7. The test will begin followed by "MEASURING". You will receive a message stating, "The optimal parameters for this computer is SET SSI_ACT=" followed by series of numbers. Copy down the series of numbers. 8. At the prompt (C:\OMEGA\PROG\DRIVERS\NT>) type EXIT. This will return you to the WINDOWS environment. 9. Click on START then RUN. 10. At the Command Line edit box type SYSEDIT and click OK. 11. This will bring up the SYSTEM CONFIGURATION EDITOR. In the AUTOEXEC.BAT window, scroll down to the line: "SET SSI_ACT=10,10,10" (10,10,10 is the default setting). Change 10,10,10 to the series of numbers from the test in DOS. 12. Click on FILE then SAVE. 13. Now click on FILE and EXIT.    Now reboot; and restart the server.
