How does one avoid the catastrophe of wash sales, i.e., not being able
to deduct short-term losses from winnings? How can a day-trader with
less than 80% wins survive ?
My understanding (from something I read in a tax book) was that a loss
on a stock could be used to reduce the basis of the next trade. Is this
how it works ??
