Re: BMI cuts services

Hi Carroll and All:

I've been biting my tongue for a few days while I stewed over my recent BMI
experience. But now I'm ready to spill the beans on the
"no account dirty !@#$ing lowlife scoundrels".

It all started July 20, when I was expecting to be away from home for a few
weeks. I asked BMI to switch me from RT to delayed quotes. They said "no
problem, we'll switch you at the end of July". My bill is always paid by
credit card, usually a year at a time, so there is no confusion or delay in
payment. All is well until I come home a couple weeks later to find that
they cancelled my RT quotes on 7/20, the day I placed the order. They also
failed to start my delayed quotes at all, thus leaving a gaping hole in my
data. It's very obvious that someone at BMI punched the wrong key on their
computer and turned my quotes off prematurely. After calling to inquire
about the problem, they state that I now need a new contract for delayed. I
suggest that I'll sign the new contract when they reimburse me for the 1/2
month of RT that I paid for and didn't receive. This hasn't happened, so
we're now in a Mexican standoff, they are billing me for their unreturned
equipment, and I'm holding it hostage until they reimburse me the 1/2
month's quote fee.

Like I stated, I would like to resume delayed service now but feel they
should credit me for the shortfall. All they have to do is issue the credit
and let me use it up in delayed quotes. Win/win situation, but they won't
do it. I'm not currently trading, but am continuing my research nightly
with the Omega refresh data. I sure hate to change a bunch of hardware and
will not change software. I'm usually not this stubborn, but they have
pissed me off and I don't like to be run over by someone who thinks he
holds all the trump cards. Can they give me 30 days in the electric chair?
Any ideas? Any alternative quotes that I can subscribe to?

Thanks,
Randy Murphree

I don't know what your BMI "contract" looks like, but if it's anything
like the Signal "contract", it promises NOTHING! Actually, it promises
that they will "do their best" to supply some unspecified data. But it
guarantees no particular data and no particular time standards. They
could quit supplying ALL data tomorrow and, as far as the "contract" is
concerned, you would have no recourse, not even a refund of a prepaid
subscription!
