TS program crashes are nothing new to most of us, but today's crash was a
biggie. It started with a "floating point error" in TS, and offered only
to close, which I did. Couldn't restart without restarting the server,
too, and did.
When I did restart, what I found was a massive screw-up in the server!
Entire contracts seem to be missing. In some contracts, one or more days
of data are completely screwed up, with very wrong price values.
Even charting was changed - some pages no longer work properly. Perhaps
it had to do with the "contract not found" messages that came up when
charting was restarted. With TS, who knows?
In the past, support at Omega seems to suggest rebuilding the data base,
day by day, and redoing the non-working chart pages. Not quite starting
over, but an outrageous amount of work to have to do for ONE little error!
This happened too late to call them, but I've had the same suggestions
many times from them.
I've *never* seen a data base program screw up data quite as badly as
this! After 20 builds, too! Makes one wonder about the new TS...
Anyone know an easier way to rebuild a TS data base (futures, indices,
& stocks) with lots of stuff in it?
Grumble, grumble....
