HMM...
So much Omega bashing. First of all, please let it be known that I am not
a particular fan of the Cruz Bros., and this goes back five years or so
when Bill called me personally to explain why I had to pay $500 per year
just to continue tech support. Arrgghh!!
And I don't even portend to understand the Y2K prob and why Omega has not
provided a fix for it.
What I DO KNOW is that there is NO other charting program available at
this point in time that allowed me to write my own indicators that allow me
to consistently win, day in and day out. What I think I hear is a bunch of
crybabies who want their cake and eat it too, i.e., please let me write a
system that takes all the work out of trading so all I have do is follow
the little arrows and make a ton of money. And when that doesn't work,
blame no one but Omega.
C'mon! You really think that with your $2k PC and a $2K piece of software
you are going to be able to purchase or develope a "holy grail" trading
system? You suppose all the big houses on Wall and LaSalle streets never
heard of TradeStation, but you and your "backtested" system is going to
beat them at their own game?
Duh!
It's NOT going to happen! Period! No way, no how. Just understand...there
will be NO TradeStation "System" that is going to work on everyone's
computer. The technology for that has just not been developed, and I
sincerely doubt it will ever be developed...especially on the PC platform
as we know it, Omega or not.
Do I think Omega misleads people when they tout their backtesting and
system capabilities? Of course I do! That ad in Futures Magazine featuring
that Allon character is nothing but BS...I know that guy. And that woman
that is on the CNBC TV commercial touting TradeStation and how she made
money ONLY going long in the stock market...c'mon!
What is TradeStation then? What it is is an incredibly powerful charting
program that allows and provides traders with a presentation of indicators
that DOES allow them to successfully trade them. Coming up with a
methodology using their indicators takes WORK!. But it can be done, and I
have not found a better platform than TradeStation to trade my indicators.
I would be lost without it...so I hope that Cruz et al will come up with a
Y2K solution...if they don't, I'm sure someone else will.
So quit the Omega bashing! Go to work and develope your own indicators and
methodology using TradeStation and become a successful trader! Believe me,
it CAN be done.
The answer is out there. And success in the markets starts with
TradeStation...period. At least for now...
