MIAMI, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Omega Research Inc. said its third
quarter results would be lower than expected due to
weaker-than-anticipated demand.
The real-time investment analysis software provider said in
a statement that it expected the company to earn about $0.01
per share in the third quarter, missing First Call expectations
for earnings of $0.04 per share. First Call had expected
earnings of $0.06 per share.
It added that a delay of its 5.0 version of its product
release would also hurt fourth quarter results. Omega Research
now expects the new products to be released for manufacture in
January 1999 and a broader release to the public is expected by
the end of the first quarter of 1999.
