If you deal in illiquid markets or go too far out from the near month you can
even find settlements that are outside the range for the day. Looks like an
obvious error but its not. Not that unusual and drives some programs designed
to detect errors in data crazy. This would be one of the hazards of using
"perpetual" contracts where you go way out and only roll forward once a year.
