Netscape 4.0 and ELA problems

I cannot seem to download ELA files that are attachments to e-mails or that are posted to web sites... I get a plug-in error
message... when I then go to save the file, the title (of the ELA file)  is extremely long, and the file unusable by SC 4.0 if
it saved it at all...Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?
