I have read that what used to be the Soviet Union
was the largest exporter of crude oil in the world. I have read that
they have or had among the largest reserves of gold in the world. I
have read that they are well endowed with natural resources, and are
astute traders of their assets.
Is this information false or is there something about this crisis that
doesn't make sense?
